Poets:

Lucy Ains- My name is Lucy Ains. I have three dogs, Nelee, Zoe, and Gabney. Two are dachshunds and one is a beagle. My cat's name is Marine. I love animals, and I hope to be a vet when I grow up. I play lots of sports, and often go running with at least one of my dogs. I love writing, except when I get really boring plot to write about. My best friend now lives in California.

Kionna Chase- My name is Kionna Chase and I'm from Gary, Indiana. I go to a performing arts high school and I'm currently a Visual Arts Major. I'm weird in a pleasant way, but that is the only way I can really describe myself as. Weird. All of my work is structured off some part of my life. The poetry I write is mostly about the short comings in my life which not only have to do with me being raised in a city most people frown upon ,but also my emotional breakdowns. My short stories and novels are about overcoming them (I admit mostly in romance).

Gabriela Boginsky- Hi! My name is Gabriela Boginsky. I am fourteen years old and in ninth grade.  I enjoy writing anything, whether it’s essay, poems or stories. When I was younger I would always write these wacky stories or make up these odd songs. I always had such good ideas. One thing you should know: I never do my writing on paper, only the computer. Also, I’ve had two poems published in a book from a reading program I worked on with some other kids. The book is called Pens and Paper: Our Weapons of Mass Construction. Not only do I love to write, but I also love to create sound, to create music. I have been playing the flute for four years now and I really enjoy it. One thing I would like to say to anyone who wants to become a better writer:  Write anything that comes to mind.  Even if it is a two word rhyme or a silly little sentence that sounded cool. You will use it later, I guarantee it. Most of my stories and poems started out from a really cool rhyme or sentence I made up in my head. Write, write, write. Even if you’re writing random words on the page, just write! Check out On Writing: 10th Anniversary Edition: A Memoir of the Craft by Stephen King. He gives you really great tips! I got it and it has helped me a lot (plus it’s funny).

Kayla Thaler- Hi, my name is Kayla and I'm fifteen years old. I'm going into my sophomore year of high school. I really started writing stories in sixth grade, and couldn't imagine not doing it. Writing is my passion and it's a great way to create a new world, outside of your life. Reading is also another hobby of mine. Books take you to a new world that you never thought existed. Writing and reading really let me blow off steam and have fun.

Alayna Henk- Alayna is a teenage author who posts stories on figment. She participates in National Novel Writing Month every year. She has no current published works, but is currently working on a collaborative story with Alexia Renee Knight.

Holly Gerbot- My name is Holly and I'm 17 years old. I live in a small town on the Mississippi River and have seven siblings whom I love more than life. I like to read (who doesn't?), write poems, play piano, watch Doctor Who, crochet, eat peanut butter, and sing random songs at the top of my lungs.

Laura Bannister- Hi, I'm Laura. I am a high school student and love sports and writing. My favorite books are usually dystopian, action, and adventure novels. Divergent, though is by far my favorite book!

Even though I don't write poetry that much, the idea of a haiku got my attention for this piece. The idea of expressing so much emotion through three lines, I think, is such a cool thing! In "Feeling the Rain" I tried to portray the feelings of loneliness, that I have felt, and that others can relate to. Hope you enjoy it!

Kayla Dempster- My name is Kayla Dempster and I am a young aspiring author, usually of young adult fiction although I do love writing poetry as well. Writing is one of my passions in life and I love being able to connect with other authors and talk about writing, and I'm always looking for ways to critique my work.

Angelina Montanari-

my name is Angelina Montanari and I have been writing for a few years. I love anime and video games as well as writing. I'm fifteen years old and have also published a book called Videre its on http://www.kaerudigital.com/ :)

Jevette grew up in Europe in a small town populating under twenty-thousand people, large cities frighten yet fascinate her. her favorite genres to write in are dystopian and science fiction, though her pieces for this story are mainly romance.

Ann Edelstein- Aside from writing, I love to sing and act.  I've been a performer for years and I've always loved performing.  I also love fashion from the 1910s and earlier.  Modern fashion is fine, but I love the frills and lace and corsets.  That's why I enjoy dressing up for reenactments.
